Crios 2007 Syrah-Bonarda

Looks black, like octopus ink. Bonarda, used mainly as a blending grape in Italy, flourishes well in Argentina. This blend has been highly regarded by the Wine Spectator. Smells of cassis and black cherry with garnet edges. Very lively and has ripe red plum and black raspberry flavors with a slightly spicy character and a long, juicy finish. Nice fruitiness and finishes with good structure.

Luigi Bosca Malbec 2006 DOC

Single Vineyard Lujan de Cuyo region. Rich and delightful will come back to this laters...

Luigi Bosca Syrah 2006

Hot oaky scent with big fruit, jammy with a tannic backbone that can stand up to the fruit. Plums, currants, long delicious finish.

Luigi Bosca Sauvignon Blanc 2008

100% stainless, sits on fine lees 6 mos. Nice fresh citrus scent, likeable.

Luigi Bosca Chardonnay 2008

Argentina: 1/3, 1/3, 1/3: malo/oaked/stainless. An approach that is unlike California. God balance with a tart finish unlike chardonnays I've had recently.

La Linda Malbec 2007

Luigi Bosca. Deep color with black cherry and leathery scent. 3 months oak and not very memorable mouth. I'm thinking that it could be better with more 'open' time. Seems like the fruit is too restrained. Will have to re-taste.

La Linda Viognier 2008

Definite apricot and honey on the nose and a tart, clean mouth. 100% stainless though seems creamy in the finish, is it the soil? The wine is soft and approachable. I could sell this wine all day if people weren't so afraid of trying a new grape. Good.

La Linda Torrontes 2008

Region: Cafayate Salta. This line is the 'everyday drink', orange blosson, warm peach cobbler scent with a clean citrus finish. Dry in the mouth with a bitter lime flavor that is a burst of freshness. Organic and sustainable. Oh and think: beautiful white peaches.

Gougenheim Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

Valle Escondido. Mendoza Argentina. Deep brick-red. Fruit bomb with black cherry, roses, prunes and a tannic finish help to make this value-priced cab appealing to all. I think this would do well in the store.

Lo Tengo Torrontes 2008

Gravelly, melony scent. Tart yet full flavored. A good summer wine.

Lo Tengo Malbec 2008

From Bodega Norton, Argentina. Deep grape-red in color, with garnet edges. Aged in oak with medium body. This wine would please many palates and has a decent tannic structure. Ripe plum, and dry finish.

Luca Pinot Noir 2007

Produced by Laura Catena. Uco Valley, Mendoza. Bright cherry nose with red peppers. Super soft and smooth mouth is velvety and unctuous. Thanks to Gary for recommending that I bring this beautiful wine into the store. It's a keeper.

Very good!

La Posta Malbec 2007

Angel Paulu. Deep, woodsy scent with black color and jammy nose. Rich black cherry and dry balance. Very nice.

From San Juan Argentina. Full-mouth red fruits and a nice, dry, tannic backbone to hold it up. Great for the price $12.99.

Pircas Negra Malbec 2008

Organic. Vegan. Wild thyme and lavender on the nose. Fruit is restrained but rich and not sweet. Tannins are nice at the end.
